A 12 × 16 ft patio has 192 sq ft of finished surface. For an illustrative paver with an installed face area of 0.5 sq ft, the geometric count is 384 pavers. With a 10% allowance for cuts and breakage, round 422.4 up to 423 pavers.
Before you buy materials
Actual unit coverage depends on joint gaps, paver shape, patterns, borders and packaging. Base gravel, bedding sand and joint sand require separate calculations based on your system.
